Dubai Waterfront

The Dubai Waterfront, a conglomeration of canals and artificial islands, is expected to be the largest waterfront and man-made development in the world. It is situated on the Persian Gulf coastline of Dubai which can also be said to be the most populous emirate of the United Arab Emirates. The Dubai Waterfront will consist of a series of mixed use zones including commercial, residential, resort, and amenity areas. The Dubai Waterfront is run by the Dubai Waterfront Company; with real estate developer Nakheel Properties being the major stakeholder with 51% stake. The Dubai Waterfront didn’t come up overnight; it took two years of work sessions and feasibility studies. Some of the world-renowned architects, planners, engineers and consultants, all led by Nakheel assisted in this task. The result is the Dubai Waterfront, simply an extraordinary offering at an incredible scale. The extent of its sheer size can be gauged from the fact that it is bigger than Manhattan and Beirut. With well over 100 different waterfront developments and over 150 masters planned communities being offered at the Dubai Waterfront, no wonder it is big on size. The Dubai Waterfront was developed with the vision to create a world-class destination not only for residents and visitors but for businesses as well in the world’s fastest growing city.

Dubai Silicon OasisThe Dubai Waterfront is strategically located around key components of like the new downtown, Madinat Al Arab, which is anchored by Al Burj – one of the world’s tallest buildings. Nakheel has well thought of its location so that the artificial islands, shaped in an arc, produce a shelter around the Palm, Jebel Ali, one of the three Palm Islands. The project also features a 75 kilometer Arabian Canal running from the coast into the desert and a major harbor. The Dubai Waterfront, located on the last remaining coastal waterfront in the Emirate, is expected to serve as the gateway to the Arabian Canal. As it is located on the last remaining coastal waterfronts, Dubai Waterfront may be the last opportunity for investors to participate in a unique and unparalleled marketplace offering. With a view to promote the development of the Dubai Waterfront, the Board of Investment of Dubai Waterfront has been set up. It will be a one-stop and multi-tasked agency which will look after the needs of all its investors. It will provide information to the potential investors, negotiate land deals, receive, appraise and approve projects, assistance with sales and marketing, issue development brand guidelines, identify and select sites for mixed use communities, residential projects, hotels and tourism projects, retail and commercial packages and many more services. So, investors seeking to use Dubai Waterfront as an entry point into the UAE, the region, and wider global markets, will find a helping hand from the Board of Investment of Dubai Waterfront.

It is estimated that the Dubai Waterfront project will extend the coastline of Dubai by 820 kilometers which is around twelve times the length of its current coastline. To cover this magnanimous area, it is proposed to consist of a mammoth 440 square kilometers of water and land developments, an area almost seven times the size of Manhattan in New York. With an intention to provide full accessibility to the local and international visitors, it is conveniently located near the new Dubai World Central International Airport with direct access to Sheikh Zayed Road, Jebel Ali Free zone and Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Waterfront has been divided into 10 key areas viz. Al Ras, Corniche, The Riviera, The Palm Boulevard, Madinat Al Arab, The Peninsula, Uptown, Downtown, Boulevard, and The Exchange. Each of these areas is well thought of. The Dubai Waterfront is being built on Dubai's last remaining surfing reef, the only point-break in United Arab Emirates and is destined to become an international landmark. It will help the already booming tourism and lifestyle industry in Dubai by setting standards in property development and providing futuristic lifestyles to people. It will surely provide an extraordinary advancement and a world-class addition to Dubai and at the same time create opportunities for long-term growth and investment in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai Waterfront is all set to become a destination recognized world over for its exclusivity and architectural excellence.
